S.I. No. 452 of 2004: European Communities (Internal Market in Natural Gas) (No. 2) Regulations 2004 

On 20th July, Dermot Ahern, T.D., signed a S.I. which provides for increased levels of consumer protection for all natural gas customers and a customer charter for household consumers. The S.I. also contains provisions relating to natural gas licences, accounting procedures, the Gas Capacity Statement and the functions of the Commission for Energy Regulation.

These Regulations continue the process of meeting Ireland's obligations under Directive 2003/55/EC  .
